Girl, 16, held over stabbing of Oldham woman

Dobcross New Road, Oldham Police said the attack was an "isolated incident"

A 16-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 42-year-old woman was stabbed.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said officers were called to a house in Dobcross New Road, Oldham, shortly before 05:00 BST.

The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for wounds to her back and remains in a serious but stable condition, a GMP spokesman said.

Det Ch Insp John Mazzolai added that it was an "isolated incident".
