More than 40 firefighters have been tackling a fire at a warehouse in Burnley.

The fire involved 600 tons of refuse inside a recycling building, said Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

Crews were called to the two-storey building on Accrington Road just after 05:00 BST, the fire service said.

Five fire appliances are still damping down the scene. An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
