Men in court after child sex abuse images investigation

Fourteen men have appeared in court over child abuse images.

The men are not part of an organised gang, but separate individuals arrested in September after an investigation into the sexual exploitation of children, police said.

The 14 suspects are all charged with crimes relating to indecent images of children.

They appeared before magistrates in Preston and were bailed to appear at the city's crown court on 17 June.

  • Graham Daniels, 56, of Didsbury Street, Blackburn has been charged with three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child.
  • Andrew Harper, 35, of Cranbrook Avenue, Oswaldtwistle has been charged with 10 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child and 10 counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child.
  • Stephen Hawthornthaite, 45, of Rutland Street, Blackburn has been charged with six counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, five counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child and eight counts of possessing to show/distribute an indecent photograph of a child.
  • Robert Thorne, 49, of Palatine Road, Blackpool has been charged with 13 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, nine counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child and two counts of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
  • Nicholas Howard, 52, of Wray Crescent, Leyland has been charged with 10 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, three counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child and possessing an extreme pornographic image.
  • William Williams, 58, of Lightfoot Lane, Fulwood, Preston has been charged with four counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, four counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child and three counts of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
  • Alan Skelhorn, 54, of St David's Road, Leyland has been charged with three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child.
  • Richard Sparrow, 24, of Thorpe Avenue, Morecambe has been charged with eight counts of making an indecent photograph of a child and 10 counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child.
  • Roger Peel, 27, of Mains Lane, Poulton-Le-Fylde has been charged with eight counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, and possessing an indecent photograph of a child.
  • Keith Alcock, 54, of Layton Road, Blackpool has been charged with nine counts of making an indecent photograph of a child and nine counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child.
  • Chris Bryan, 48, of Broadgate, Preston has been charged with four counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, one count of possessing an indecent photograph of a child and three counts of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
  • Simon Haythornthwaite, 28, of Magnolia Close, Fulwood has been charged with 12 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, four counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child and two counts of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
  • John Patrick Wolstenholme, 56, of Queen's Road, Burnley has been charged with nine counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, four counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child and two counts of possessing prohibited images of a child.
  • John Lynsky, 31, of Cherry Crescent, Rawtenstall has been charged with eight counts of making an indecent photograph of a child and four counts of possessing an indecent photograph of a child.
