Man's body found off Rossall beach: Death 'unexplained'

Police are treating the death of a man whose body was recovered off a Lancashire beach as unexplained.

The body, of a man in his late 40s to mid 60s, was spotted in the water by a dog walker on Rossall beach, Fleetwood, at about 17:40 GMT on Monday.

Police said the body was then recovered by coastguards about a mile offshore.

Officers believe he had only been in the water for a short time and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Police have described him as white, between 5ft 8in (1.72m) and 5ft 10in (1.78m), of medium build with light brown balding hair and blue eyes.
