An 11-month-old girl who was mauled to death by a pet dog was "my world", her mother has said.

Ava-Jayne Marie Corless was attacked as she slept upstairs at a house in Emily Street, Blackburn, on Monday night.

She was taken to hospital where she died as a result of multiple injuries, a post-mortem examination revealed.

Her mother Chloe King, 20, said: "I love her, miss her and truly cherished every moment with my little girl and would do anything to have her back."

The baby's father, Dean Corless, said Ava-Jayne was "the apple of my eye".

Ms King and her boyfriend Lee Wright, 26, have been bailed pending further inquiries after being arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and child neglect on Wednesday.
