Man, 90, dies after Clitheroe road collision

A 90-year-old man has died after being hit by a car as he crossed a road in Clitheroe.

Stuart Beal, who comes from Clitheroe, was struck by a Toyota Corolla as he crossed Railway View Avenue from Church Walk at 11:35 GMT on Thursday.

His injuries were thought to be minor but his condition worsened over the next four days and he died earlier.

Police have urged anyone who saw the car after it emerged from Clitheroe Health Centre car park to contact them.
