'Large-scale' cannabis factory found at Blackburn house

Cannabis plants in Shear Brown About 500 cannabis plants were found by officers at the address in Shear Brow

A cannabis factory with plants worth "several hundred thousand pounds" has been found at a house in Blackburn.

Police raided the address in Shear Brow on Sunday following information from the public. Officers found about 500 mature cannabis plants.

A 19-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested at the property and later charged with production of a controlled Class B drug.

He was remanded to appear at Preston Crown Court in January.

Det Insp Eric Halford described it as a "significant find" and hoped the seizure would "put a dent in the supply chain".
