Chorley motorcyclist killed in Clitheroe road crash

A man has been killed after he was thrown off his motorcycle when he crashed with a car in Lancashire.

Shaun Taylor, 47, from Adlington, Chorley, collided with a Nissan Navara that was travelling in the opposite direction about 13:40 GMT on Tuesday.

Police said the crash happened near Springs Wood in Bolton by Bowland Road, Clitheroe.

He died at the scene, officers said. The car driver, from Wyre, was uninjured.

The road was closed for more than three hours while investigations were carried out.
