Lancashire Day marked across county

27 November 2013 Last updated at 19:34 GMT

Lancashire Day has been marked across the county to commemorate the day in 1295 when Lancashire sent its first representatives to parliament.

Town criers across the county read out the Lancashire Day Proclamation to mark the date.

The commemorations coincided with a homecoming parade and church service in St Annes, for soldiers who have recently returned from Afghanistan.

The 2nd Battalion, The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, based at Weeton barracks, recently completed a six month tour of duty.
