Man killed in house fire in Burnley

Kay Gardens, Burnley The fire was reported shortly before 01:00 GMT

A 57-year-old man has died in a fire at a house in Lancashire.

Three fire engines were sent to the building in Kay Gardens, Burnley, shortly before 01:00 GMT, the fire service said.

Police said when the fire was put out a body of a man was discovered. They said the cause of the fire was not known but it was not being treated as suspicious.

A joint investigation by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and Lancashire Police is under way.
