Man, 85, killed crossing the road in Poulton-le-Fylde is named

An 85-year-old man killed after he was hit by a car as he crossed a main road in Lancashire has been named by police.

Harry Owen was hit by an Audi on Amounderness Way near the River Wyre pub in Poulton-le-Fylde at around 19:00 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital in a critical condition and died of his injuries the following day.

Mr Owen lived in a care home near to the scene, said police. A post-mortem examination is to take place later.
