Blackpool pair freed after baby was injured

Two people who were arrested after a three-week old baby was taken into hospital with head injuries have been released without charge.

The baby boy was admitted to Blackpool Victoria Hospital on Wednesday.

Police arrested a 23-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both from Blackpool, on suspicion of section 18 wounding.

The baby has been transferred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool. Police said his condition was serious and the investigation continues.
