Blackpool alley murder: Second man charged

A second man has been charged with the murder of a man who was found seriously injured in a Blackpool alleyway.

James Whitelaw, 46, originally from Glasgow, was found behind Regent Road, on 23 November.

He was taken to hospital but died five days later. A post-mortem examination showed he died after being hit on the head with a blunt object.

Frank McCartney, 43, of Banks Street, Blackpool, will appear at Preston Crown Court on Friday.

Jack Tindall, 21, of Bedford Road, Blackpool, has also been charged with Mr Whitelaw's murder and is due to face trial in May.
