Fleetwood man charged with baby sex abuse

A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 10-week-old baby girl.

Police were told of the child's injuries by staff at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on Sunday.

A 25-year-old man has been charged with four counts of serious sexual assault. A 21-year-old woman is accused of causing or allowing harm to a child.

The pair, both of Fleetwood, appeared Blackpool Magistrates Court where they were remanded in custody. They are due at Preston Crown Court next month.

The man is also charged with one count of engaging in sexual activity in front of a child.
