A woman has appeared before Preston magistrates charged with causing or allowing the death of her three-year-old daughter.

Lia Green died on 30 August of injuries caused by "significant violence", a post-mortem examination found.

Natalie Critchley, 21, of Norris Street, Preston, will appear again on 21 December at the city's crown court.

Lia's father Richard Green, 22, of Harling Road, Preston, is on trial for her murder on 10 April.

His next hearing is on 14 January at Preston Crown Court when he will be asked to enter a plea.

Lancashire Police said a 22-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been released with no further action.
