Man dies after being hit by lorry in Coppull

A man has died after being knocked down in Lancashire, police have said.

The man, who has not been named but is believed to be in his 40s, was hit by a lorry in New Road in Coppull at about 10:45 GMT.

The road was closed for about three hours for an accident investigation to take place.

Sgt Sean Cunningham, from Lancashire police, said police were trying to establish what happened and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
