Man found in Blackpool alleyway in critical condition

A man found with serious head injuries in a Blackpool alley is in a critical condition in hospital, police said.

The 46-year-old, who has not been named, was discovered unconscious behind Regent Street at around 22:00 GMT on Friday.

Police are appealing for information on how the man, who was seen with a black eye on Wednesday, sustained his injuries.

He is described as a white, around 5ft 10in tall with short dark hair.

Det Insp Jon Clegg appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

"We believe this man, in the days leading up to the incident, had been seen on a number of occasions in the local area in a confused state," he said.
