Driver dies in Lancashire two-car collision

One man was killed and another man was seriously injured in a crash involving two cars in Lancashire.

Robert Carson, 35, from Blackburn, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa when it was in collision with a Ford Focus on Whalley New Road, Wilpshire, on Sunday night.

Mr Carson was taken to hospital where he died and the driver of the Focus, a 24-year-old man from Rossendale, is in a critical condition in hospital.

The road was closed for four hours while police investigated the scene.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
