Fire at house in Leyland leads to woman's death

A woman has died after a fire broke out at a house in central Lancashire.

Firefighters were called to the terraced house in Leyland Lane, Leyland, just before 20:30 GMT on Sunday after reports that somebody was trapped.

A body was found in the property and Lancashire Fire Service is investigating the cause of the fire.

"There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances," said a Lancashire Police spokesman.
