Man charged over serious sexual assault in Burnley

A man has been charged in connection with a serious sexual assault on a woman in Burnley.

The 47-year-old victim was attacked near the Inn at the Wharf, off Manchester Road on Thursday evening. Her handbag was taken by her attacker.

A 30-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has been charged with theft and three counts relating to a serious sexual assault.

He will appear at Burnley Magistrates' Court later.
