£160,000 Lytham cannabis haul a 'significant find'

Cannabis plants Lancashire Police said the find has an estimated street value of £160,000

Lancashire Police have called the discovery of a large cannabis farm in a Lytham flat a "significant find".

Officers said a search of the property on Clifton Drive revealed up to 400 plants being grown in paddling pools across three rooms.

The find, along with cannabis growing equipment, has an estimated street value of about £160,000.

Police were contacted due to "a strong smell" coming out of the empty property.

Sgt Lisa Griffin, from Lancashire Police, said: "This is quite a significant find and it has ultimately prevented a large amount of cannabis from making its way on to our streets."
