Motorcyclist dies in Sawley lorry crash

A motorcyclist has been killed in a collision with a lorry in east Lancashire.

Ronald Birch, 40, was killed on the A59 Gisburn Road at Sawley on Friday at about 15:00 BST.

Mr Birch died at the scene, Lancashire police said.

Sgt Sean Cunningham said: "An investigation is under way and I would appeal to anybody that witnessed this collision and didn't stop at the scene to come forward and contact police."
