Royal Mint coin collection stolen in Skelmersdale

A rare collection of 210 limited edition Royal Mint coins worth £10,000 have been stolen during a robbery in Skelmersdale, Lancashire Police said.

The theft of the gold coins, which took place on housing estate in Blakehall, happened while the owner had gone shopping.

A thief climbed a fence into a back garden before entering the house by smashing a glass conservatory door.

A quantity of cash was also taken, along with 100 packets of cigarettes.
