Missing Rawtenstall boy, 11, found in Manchester

An 11-year-old boy who went missing from his Lancashire home on Monday was found "safe and well" in Manchester city centre overnight, police said.

Officers had appealed for witnesses after becoming "increasingly concerned" when the child, from Rawtenstall, had been missing for more than 24 hours.

He was seen boarding a tram in Bury on Monday afternoon, and was found in Manchester in the early hours.

Police had been investigating a possible sighting in Picadilly.
