Blackpool beach murder: Men in court

Leslie Bertram was found dead on Blackpool beach between Central and South Pier on Saturday

Two men have appeared in court charged with murdering a man whose body was found on the Blackpool beach.

Leslie Bertram, 44, from Blackpool, was found between Central and South Pier in the early hours of Saturday.

Colin Dugdale, 27, of Lytham Road and Paul Thompson, 43, of Woodfield Road, both in Blackpool, appeared before Preston Crown Court.

They were both remanded in custody until 15 October and a provisional trial date was set for 3 December.

A post-mortem examination showed Mr Bertram died from injuries sustained in an assault.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of murder but the third was released without charge.
