Preston's Tithebarn plans scrapped as John Lewis withdraws
Plans for the £700m Tithebarn redevelopment of Preston city centre have been abandoned after the flagship store pulled out.
John Lewis was to have been the scheme's "anchor store" and it was hoped it would attract other retailers.
Leader of Preston City Council, Councillor Peter Rankin, said he was "very disappointed".
The council said it would now consider a less ambitious scheme.
