Man arrested in Blackpool stabbing inquiry

A man has been arrested by detectives in connection with a stabbing in Blackpool.

Lancashire Police said on Thursday they wanted to speak with Steven Carter, 37, after a 50-year-old man was stabbed in the back at a block of flats.

Mr Carter was traced to Brighton and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Friday morning.

The victim remains in a serious but stable condition in Blackpool Victoria Hospital, police said.

Police said Mr Carter would now be brought back to the resort for questioning.
