Woman, 39, held after man stabbed in Accrington

A 39-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Accrington.

Lancashire Police were alerted by the ambulance service who found the man at an address on Lion Street on Thursday night.

The victim was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital and has undergone surgery. He is said to be in a serious condition.

Forensic examinations of the scene have been carried out and investigations are continuing.
