M6 re-opens in Lancashire after caravan crash

Part of the M6 motorway was forced to close in north Lancashire after a caravan crashed on the carriageway.

Police said the caravan jackknifed on the motorway southbound at junction 34 near Lancaster just before 1500 BST, crossing all three lanes.

There were not reported to be any serious injuries but there were long tailbacks and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

The road re-opened at about 1630 BST, Lancashire Police said.
