Body found in search for missing man in Surrey

A body has been found by police investigating the disappearance of a man in Surrey.

James Phelan, 42, from Chertsey was last seen in the accident and emergency department of St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey on Friday 8 August.

Surrey Police said a search team found a body off St Peters Way in Addlestone on 15 August.

A formal identification has not yet been made but the force said it was believed to Mr Phelan.

The cause of death is being treated as unexplained and his family have been informed.
