Planning permission has been granted for a £10m Medway secondary school specialising in construction and engineering.

The Medway University Technical College will be open to students in Gravesham, Maidstone, Medway, Tonbridge and Mailling and Swale in September 2015.

Students at the school will have access to the Medway campus of the University of Greenwich Mid Kent college.

The school is part of a regeneration project at Chatham Docks.

Dr Karon Buck, principal of the new school, said: "This learning environment will reflect industry standards, and provide our students with the opportunity to work with and learn from leading professionals in their field of expertise."
