Man 'armed with handgun' robs Dover convenience store

A shop in Dover was robbed by a man "armed with a gun" on Thursday evening.

The man, who police believe was carrying a black handgun, entered the shop at 22:00 BST, threatened staff and demanded to be given money.

Nobody was hurt in the robbery at the One Stop shop in Bewsbury Cross Lane, Whitfield, but the man was able to leave having taken money and cigarettes.

Kent Police have appealed for any witnesses.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 30s or early 40s, 5ft 9in (1.75m) tall and of stocky build.
