Elderly driver dies after Tenterden crash

A man in his 70s has died after his car struck a grass verge and ended up in a ditch in Kent.

The man was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford after the crash, on Small Hythe Road in Tenterden, but died.

Kent Police said it was possible he had suffered a medical episode prior to the crash, at about 15:15 GMT on Wednesday.

The man, who has not yet been named, was driving a Citroen C3. The force is appealing for witnesses.
