Kent Police arrest three after Folkestone fatal stabbing

Police at scene Dover Road was cordoned off as police carried out forensic examination work

Three men have been arrested after a man found with stab wounds in Folkestone later died.

Kent Police said the 20-year-old, found in the Dover Road area on Wednesday night, was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead in hospital.

Officers said a murder inquiry had started and that three London men, aged 18, 19 and 20, were in custody.

Police have cordoned off an area of Dover Road, near the junction with Harbour Way.

Earlier, officers said they were carrying out "essential forensic examination work".

The man who died, who was from the London area, has not yet been named.

Police said he was found injured between 19:00 GMT and 19:30 GMT on Wednesday.

In an appeal for witnesses, Det Ch Insp Rob Vinson said he wanted to hear from anyone who witnessed anything unusual in Dover Road near the junction with Harbour Way, or anyone who saw a disturbance or an injured man.
