Properties had to be evacuated after the back wall of an empty shopping centre in Kent collapsed.

Emergency services were called to the Bell Shopping Centre in High Street, Sittingbourne just after 18:00 GMT on Saturday.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said no-one was injured. It is not yet known what caused the collapse.

Vehicles parked nearby were damaged by falling bricks. Swale council structural engineers were at the scene.
