Gary Pocock death: Sixth person charged over Sheppey death

A sixth person has been charged in connection with the death of a man whose body was found on a beach on the Isle of Sheppey.

The body of Gary Pocock, 34, was discovered on the beach in Warden Bay Road, Leysdown, on 7 August.

Kent Police said Lisa Terry, 32, of Grantham Road, Manor Park in Newham, north east London has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Five people have already appeared in court in Kent charged with murder.

A post-mortem examination showed Mr Pocock, from Dagenham, east London, died from head injuries.

Those charged with murder are Christopher James Bones, 20, of Dorothy Gardens, Dagenham; Matthew Terry, 20, and Mark Terry, 44, both of Grantham Road, Manor Park, and Jamie West, 19, of Cliffe View Gardens, Warden, Sheerness.

A 15-year-old boy from Warden is also accused of murder, but cannot be named for legal reasons.

All six are due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 29 November.
