The family of a woman who was found dead in Broadstairs have paid tribute to a "much-loved and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend".

Anne-Marie Birch, 47, from Ramsgate, was found dead at an address in Whiteness Road on 7 November.

Her husband, Lee Vincent Paul Birch, 55, of Lymington Road in Westgate-on-Sea, has been charged with her murder.

Mrs Birch's family said in a statement that her death had been a "devastating shock" to them.

In the statement, the family said: "Anne-Marie was a much-loved and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

"Her sudden death has been a devastating shock to us all and we ask for your respect in allowing us our time and space to grieve over our loss.

"For those who ever knew or met Anne-Marie would know how she was the kindest, sweetest human being and will be sadly missed by us all."

Mr Birch was remanded in custody by magistrates earlier this week and is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 28 January.
