Man charged with murder after body found in Broadstairs

A man has been charged with murder after a woman's body was found at a property in Kent.

The 47-year-old woman, from Ramsgate, was pronounced dead at the address in Whiteness Road, Broadstairs, on Thursday.

Officers had initially been called to reports a woman had been injured.

Lee Vincent Paul Birch, 55, of Lymington Road in Westgate-on-Sea, is due to appear before Dover magistrates on Saturday charged with murder.

A Kent Police spokesman said a post-mortem examination was expected to be carried out on Saturday to establish the cause of death.
