Chatham worker injured in street stabbing

A fish and chip shop worker was stabbed in an attempted robbery in Kent.

The 49-year-old was leaving the The Original Codfather in Luton High Street, Chatham, soon after 22:00 BST on Friday when he was approached by a masked man who demanded money.

The attacker ran off empty-handed and the victim realised he had been stabbed in the leg.

Kent Police are searching for the attacker and are asking any witnesses to come forward.

The stabbed man is in hospital in a serious but stable condition, the force said.
