Kent petrol station worker dragged by car

A service station worker has been carried for half a mile on the bonnet of a car he tried to prevent from leaving after it filled up with fuel.

Police said the 58-year-old attempted to stop the small dark saloon from driving off from the Texaco on London Road in West Kingsdown, Kent on Wednesday.

The man eventually fell off the bonnet.

He was taken to King's College Hospital in London where police say he is in a critical condition.

A Kent Police spokesman said a man and a woman were believed to have been in the car, which did not stop.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 14:15 BST.
