Chatham armed robbery sparks two arrests

A man and a woman have been arrested after reports of an armed robbery of a security van in Kent.

Police said they were called to a supermarket in Maidstone Road, Chatham, at 09:30 BST on Friday, following reports that security van staff were threatened with a small hand gun.

Officers executed a warrant at a house in Gillingham and found cash.

A woman, 41, and man 45, both from Gillingham, were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery.
