A man has been arrested by detectives investigating an allegation of racist comments sent to the former Gillingham football player, Mark McCammon.

The 47-year-old man was arrested by the Metropolitan Police on Saturday.

A spokesman said he was questioned and later bailed pending further inquiries to a date in August.

The claim relates to a message posted on the Facebook page of the player, who won a tribunal against Gillingham FC over racial discrimination last year.
