Gillingham shootings: Man charged with attempted murder

A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following shootings in Gillingham more than a year ago.

The 25-year-old from Chatham is in custody pending a court appearance.

Two men, aged 27 and 34, were seriously injured in the shootings at a car wash in the town's Railway Street on 12 April 2012. They have since been discharged from hospital.

A police spokesman said a date had not yet been arranged for the arrested man to appear before magistrates.
