Ramsgate bike crash leaves pedestrian dead

An elderly pedestrian has died after being hit by a bike in a seaside town in Kent.

The 70-year-old man was crossing Madeira Walk, near the seafront in Ramsgate, at about 18:25 BST on Friday when he was knocked down.

He suffered a serious head injury and was taken to King's College Hospital in London, where he died of his injuries.

Police said the cyclist was slightly hurt. The victim's family has been informed of his death.
