A campaign against those driving while under the influence of drink or drugs has been launched by Kent Police.

For the first time officers will conduct static road checks at various spots across the county as part of the summer four-week campaign.

Motorists will be breath tested if they have committed traffic offences or are suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol, a spokesman said.

Those suspected of taking drugs will take field impairment tests.
