Six treated in Royal Victoria Hospital chemical alert

Six people have been treated by paramedics after a chemical incident at a hospital in Folkestone.

The alert followed the discovery of an unknown substance found in public toilets at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Firefighters wearing chemical protection suits and specialist officers cleared up the substance on Friday. Samples were taken and passed to Kent Police for investigation.

Six people were treated by paramedics as a precaution, the fire service said.

A spokesman said there were no other injuries reported.
