Ex-security manager Christopher Griffiths jailed for theft

The former security manager of crime prevention body the Safer Medway Partnership has been jailed for stealing from the organisation.

Christopher Griffiths, 61, of Fir Tree Grove, Chatham, pleaded guilty to five counts of theft by an employee at Medway Magistrates Court.

He admitted stealing a cheque for £2,520.99 and four amounts of cash - £436.80, £244.80, and two of £438.

He was jailed for 84 days and ordered to pay compensation of £4,078.59.

Safer Medway Partnership was formed by businesses to combat crime and anti-social behaviour in partnership with Medway Police and Medway Council.
