A prisoner who failed to return to an open prison in Kent after she was released on temporary licence is back in jail.

Clare Barstow, 52, was released from HMP East Sutton Park on 15 March to attend a work appointment.

She failed to return to the Category D prison near Maidstone, which prepares prisoners for resettlement in the community.

Barstow was found in West Sussex on 20 March and is now in a closed prison.

She has been charged with remaining unlawfully at large after the expiry of a period of temporary licence and is due to appear in court at a later date.
