A jack-knifed lorry closed the coastbound M20 for several hours and spilled diesel across the carriageway.

Rush-hour motorists were advised to avoid the area while the truck was recovered and the fuel was cleared.

Emergency teams were called to the crash near Junction 4 for Leybourne just before 07:00 GMT.

Kent Police said one London-bound lane was also closed after the lorry hit the central reservation. The M20 reopened at about 11:30 GMT. No-one was injured.
