Gillingham woman charged over hammer attack on 26 cars

A 51-year-old woman has been charged after 26 cars were vandalised in a hammer attack in Kent.

The vehicles were damaged on Canterbury Street, in Gillingham, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The arrested woman, who is from the town, has been charged with criminal damage and possessing an offensive weapon.

She has been released on bail and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court on 15 April.

Motorists are being asked to report any criminal damage.
